Description: A shell-burst lands beside an Austro-Hungarian observation post, scattering snow over the men. In response an assault company is alerted from its hut, while its 37mm mountain howitzer is manhandled into position. The men of the company run up the snow path and climb a rope ladder up the mountain face to reach the enemy. The 37mm opens fire, directed from the observation post by telephone, as the assaulting troops scramble up the mountain side. The shells burst against the Italian position higher up the mountain. As the Austro-Hungarian rush reaches the ground directly below the Italian position they have grenades thrown at them by the Italians. Stretcher-bearers take away an injured Austrian. Finally the assault troops storm the Italian position, using their bayonets as knives, then taking their prisoners and wounded with them continue on up the mountain.
Almost complete second reel of a Hungarian film of their own troops in the Italian Alps, probably 1918.
